This was the first of three dive that I did on the Queen's
Birthday holiday. This dive was a training dive for me, being tested on the
underwater navigation part of my PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course. It
basically involved me swimming a square, then a triangle using compass bearings,
then being able to navigate my way over the reef back to the boat using
"natural" means - reefs, the propeller... That part at least meant that I got to
see some of the wreck, including the aforementioned propeller (pictures
17-19) that sticks straight out of the reef. Because I was being assessed, I
didn't get out to some of the other interesting parts of the wreck, including
the anchor that also sits on the reef top. Maybe next time...
